English Lessons August 08 2012, 0 Comments

It’s summer break in Haiti, but school has been in full swing for the 3 Cords ladies! Over the past few months, Peyton Gully, a Mission of Hope summer intern has been teaching the ladies English. Peyton, who has a background in education, has graciously been coming to the 3 Cords building twice a week to lead an English class! It has been a BIG hit! Rumor has it that the women LOVED the English lessons and looked forward to them every week! I can only imagine the laughs and smiles that filled the lessons! Focusing on different categories like “the home”, “at work”, and “family”, Peyton has successfully began to teach the women English! When you enter the 3 Cords building you are now welcomed with “hello, how are you?”, or “what is your name?”.

Learning English is not an easy task, but the ladies are determined and value the chance to learn. The 3 Cords family thanks you Peyton for taking the time to teach! If you have the chance to visit 3 Cords in the near future, be sure to not only say “bonjour”, but “hello”, “au revoir” and “goodbye”. We can’t wait to see what the future holds as the ladies continue to practice their English and their sewing!
